Day 1 – Broome to Indee Station

Departing Broome we cross the Great Sandy Desert, calling in at the coastal oasis of Eighty Mile Beach where we may have time for a quick swim in the turquoise water and a chance to collect some unique seashells.   We travel further south through Port Hedland checking out the enormous piles of iron ore and salt, before setting up camp at a remote sheep and cattle property, Indee Station.  Tonight, sample some traditional Aussie damper baked in the hot coals of our campfire.  (LD)

Day 2 – Indee Station to Karijini NP

This morning we make our way to the remote but spectacular Karijini National Park where we spend the next three days exploring the ancient gorges and swimming in emerald coloured rock pools.  The Karijini experience is all about adventure and after lunch, we lace up our hiking boots and walk down to Fern Pool, passing through Circular Pool, Dales Gorge and Fortesque Falls, where you will be rewarded with a refreshing swim.  Overnight camp in Karijini  (BLD)

Day 3 & 4 – Karijini NP

We start the day at Oxer Lookout, checking out Junction Pool where 4 gorges meet.  This adventurous hike includes inching your way over ledges, squeezing through deep chasms eroded billions of years ago, climbing banded iron rock walls and swimming in fresh water rock pools.  In the afternoon we give our legs a well-earned rest and visit the Karijini Cultural Centre, which is full of local and Aboriginal information.   Overnight camp in Karijini  (BLD)

Day 5 – Karijini NP – Pilbara - Exmouth

Up early for a hike into beautiful Joffre Gorge, an unusually carved wall forming a natural amphitheatre. After the rain, you may be lucky enough to see the almost 100 metre waterfall cascading down the rock face.  Leaving Karijini behind, we call in at the unique mining town of Tom Price before travelling through the vast bush land of the Pilbara region on our way to Exmouth and our overnight camp.  (BLD)

Day 6 – Exmouth to Coral Bay & Ningaloo Reef

This morning we explore the Cape Range National Park.  Take a dip or relax on the beach at picturesque Turquoise Bay and hike around the vertical red rock walls of the gorge for stunning views at Yardie Creek. Overnight at Coral Bay. (BLD)

Day 7 – Coral Bay

Spend the entire day snorkelling the famous Ningaloo Reef accessible from Coral Bay’s white sandy beach.  Alternatively, you can choose one of the many optional activities including quad biking, coral viewing cruises and scuba diving.  Overnight at Coral Bay. (BLD)

Day 8 – Coral Bay to Monkey Mia

We call in at unique Shell Beach before continuing on to Monkey Mia where we have fun with the friendly local dolphins.  Overnight at Monkey Mia Resort. (BLD)

Day 9 – Monkey Mia to Kalbarri NP

Heading into the Shark Bay World Heritage area, we stop to be amazed by the stromatolites – the oldest living organisms in the world - on our way to beautiful Hawks Head.  We spend the afternoon hiking and exploring the spectacular layered sandstone gorges (Z Bend & Natures Window) of Kalbarri National Park before heading to our overnight camp.  (BLD)

Day 10 – Kalbarri NP to Perth

Departing the coastal gorges of the Kalbarri National Park, we head to the picturesque seaside town of Dongara before travelling south through the fascinating landscape of the Nambung National Park and checking out the famous Pinnacles.  Then we make our way to Perth arriving in the early evening.  (BL)
