Day 1

Brisbane - Roma

We will meet early and enjoy our morning tea together whilst meeting all of the tour participants. We have a 5 hour drive ahead of us which will take us to Roma – also known as the gateway to the outback. Alternatively you may wish to make your own way to Roma and we will meet you there. Here we will overnight. Powered sites and amenities are available

Day 2

Roma to Carnarvon Gorge

We will spend a relaxed morning in Roma before driving to Carnarvon Gorge. Our Camp for the next couple of days has no powered sites, however spotlessly clean toilets and a dump point, 360° views of Carnarvon National Park, pet friendly and offers dogsitting/ kennel facilities. Tonight we will enjoy a “get together” at the campfire

Day 3

Guided Walk “Lower Gorge Explorer”

The Australian Nature Guides will take us on our Adventure today. On the Guided Lower Gorge Explorer Tour we will visit the Art Gallery, Ward's Canyon, Amphitheatre, and the Moss Garden with Carnarvon Gorge's most experienced guides. Hunt for wildlife and unusual plants as you meander along the Gorge floor and then discover the ceremonial meaning behind the Gorge's 4000 year old rock art. Use Ward's Canyon's extraordinary microclimate to see 30 million years back in time while you wait for the Billy to boil at lunchtime. Read the Amphitheatre's hidden clues into the formation of the Gorge's rocks and then see the same geology in action as you follow the long journey of the ancient water dripping from the walls of the Moss Garden. It’s a full day tour at a steady pace.

Day 4

Carnarvon Gorge

Today you decide what you wish to do: relax at the camp, do your own bushwalk, enjoy a relaxing swim in the creek .
Optional activities are:
“Off the beaten Track” guided tour with Australian Nature Guides $95.00 per person
"Night Safari " guided tour with Australian Nature Guides $35.00 per person

Day 5

Carnarvon Gorge to Chinchilla

Sadly it’s time to leave this magical place. Our Drive today is just over 450km, with an overnight stop on a farm in Chinchilla. Set on 35 acres on the banks of Charley Creek, it has a beautiful bush land setting adjacent to the creek. A truly tranquil experience. This campground offers toilets, showers, access to potable water, and power hook ups. Open fire pits, and fire wood available

Day 6

Chinchilla to Brisbane

Our final stretch will take us along some scenic country roads back to Brisbane.

Please note: this tour is dog friendly, as long as your dog is friendly towards people and other dogs. The dog remains the owners responsibility at all times. Carnarvon Gorge is a National Park so dogs can not come on the Lower Gorge Explorer Tour, our accommodation however provides kennels and dog sitting services
